A poem highlighting a comparison between eternal love and a monotone...
The memory remains with me
Even to this day
Of when my eyes first met yours
On that warm day in May.

The excitement that erupted
The lust that did fly
'Twas like a chord within my head
A chord oh so high

It echoed and reverberated
In my hollow mind
I knew that passion such as this
Was not easy to find

Little did I know
You were soon to be my bride
And it was not long after marriage
The high-pitched chord suddenly died...

This note of perfect beauty
Was woefully replaced
With a dull and tedious monotone
Relentless with it's pace

Unforgiving and continuous
The chord it drove me mad
Was there any way
To regain the note that we once had..?

It's not that I'm unhappy
But I long for just one wish
I desire more than anything
To increase our love's low pitch.
