A short poem about childhood innocence.
I stared into the face of purity
There was not a scar on a body of bruises
Joy
Eternal
Only sugar tears were felt
How it must feel! To not be tainted by the world...

Mother Earth is to be explored!
By glass children
            ...so young and sweet
I envy their hope
Genuine, tangible hope
That wraps around their cores
And hugs them

I cry out; I covet that face of Gold
Of perfection
Of love
But it's past my expiration date...
        ...The real me has died

As will the children's soft, perfect souls

I spy
With my little eye
Something amiss
What's wrong, little girl?
Please grab your Breathing Soul
And keep it with your mementos of young life
Never
Never
Never
EVER
Let go
Because I still can't find mine.
