My personal interpretation of today's society--improvement comes only after recognition.
The Trivial Life

Life is trivial
When happiness is a stranger
And walking in the street’s a danger
When love’s less than a courtesy
And faith is just a follow-up to ingrained belief
When success is fleeting
And your heart stops beating
And someone’s having to fight for you because you’ve decided to
Quit.
Trivial is life
When two people are nothing more than one
And a single in society is shunned
When beauty is nothing more than pain
(Because society is nothing if not vain)
And people stop laughing because there is nothing in life that is worth
Laughing about
Life means nothing
When children cry
And unborn babies die
When wives are weeping
Because their husbands are keeping
Mistresses and secrets and lies
And honesty is wrong
And sincerity is gone
And every soul is lost
(Bought without a cost)
By organized and fictionalized
Society
Life is for the living
But those who live it are dead
Because they cannot face the dread
Of day to day and week to week
Listening to chatter disguised as speak
About nothing but falsities
And animosities
And whole cities are dying
Because the dying have stopped trying
And no one can see
That we can’t simply just “be”
Because life has become so
Trivial.
