A simple poem
FROM THE WINGS OF A BUTTERFLY!

On the wings of a butterfly, I see a speck of gold,

I touch the speck and it dusts my little finger,

I gently raise my finger high above my head and,

The wind swoops down and carries my speck away.

From the wings of a butterfly the speck soars to the skies,

Floating gently over trees and clouds, houses and people-

It slowly descends on the wrinkled hand of a woman,

Who had just breathed a prayer asking God for a sign.

The glittering speck made the woman raise her head and,

She saw the rainbow stretched across the sky-

She bowed her head with a grateful heart,

Thanking God for His promise that He was always near.

The butterfly never knew how its speck helped someone;

I’ll never know how my smiles would cheer a weary soul,

Or my words would soothe a bleeding heart;

For I am just a little dot in the human ocean,

But I can be the golden speck from the wings of a butterfly!
