Imperfect pantoum inspired by a stroll on the beach.
Breathing in the salty freshness,
see the waves pound the shore
turning bleach white shells
into sugar fine sand.

See the waves pound the shore,
shards of glass blending
into sugar fine sand
like hidden colored daggers.

Shards of glass blending
forming a mosaic of danger,
like hidden colored daggers,
for tender toes to unearth.

Forming a mosaic of danger,
where shells no longer linger
for tender toes to unearth,
beachcombers morph to bums.

Where shells no longer linger
a ray of hope burns on as
beachcombers morph to bums,
picking "jewels" from the sand.

A ray of hope burns on as
tender toes return, and pause,
picking "jewels" from the sand,
breathing in the salty freshness.
