A short poem.
At the bottom of the ocean I lie
Where it is dark at midday,
Waiting.

I am hard, ugly shell
And soft oil-slick shimmer.

Some thousand years from now
I will be found
By a man dressed as an alien,
And his lover's milky heart I will become,
Silent and knowing.
