A poem I wrote about my ex.
Your voice used to be my favorite song
But it’s been far too long
Since I’ve wanted to hear you sing.
So when you call
I hit ignore
And then I’m out the door
Pretending you never tried to contact me again.
I tell my friends,
Yeah, it’s over. No big deal.
He was a jerk, so it’s okay.
Won’t tell them how much you meant to me,
How much hurt I feel.
Won’t tell them you want me back,
Wont tell them I’m the one
Who started this attack.
Won’t tell your mom the things you said you’d do to me,
Won’t tell your friends the whispers of how much you said you loved me.
I won’t tell my family what you stole from me
And I won’t tell them what I gave to you.
I won’t miss you.
But at night I still turn on the radio and listen
Waiting to hear your song.
