Friendship lost.
I was half a child

And you were younger still.

We decided

To be

More friendly than

Mere friends,

An affair

That lasted

The eternity

Of an hour,

Anticlimactic

In every sense

Of the term.

And when at last we stopped,

Thoroughly underwhelmed,

We went, each our way,

Perpetually silent,

Friends no more.
