A personal poem in dealing with a struggle I have been having...
My thoughts are dwelling in the past
They’re pulling me under way to fast
And now she haunts me with every look
Because of the chance I never took

I remember as I gazed into her eyes
I thought I had found life’s greatest prize
But my coyness hindered me and held me down
As all my words fell to the ground
And because of that I came off as a creep
An impression that I resent to keep

And now as I lay here in my bed
I’m stewing on words that I can say
To prove her wrong, to prove me right
That I can be the one in her life

My thoughts are dwelling in the past
But this time it will not last
‘Cause I got the perfect words to say
To make her change her mind today
