Short poem on love. I think the style is free verse or something like that.
The heart wants what the heart wants,
and even though the brain controls the heart,
it has no control over love.
You can try to ignore the feeling,
but it will effect your every thought.
Love, this elusive gift given to us,
it is everywhere, and at the same time it is nowhere.
Where it is there is happiness and joy,
but when it is gone, in the space where it used to be is sadness and depression.
Some say that we are too young to know love,
but is there an age restriction on love as there is on many other things?
This amazing drug that we call love will get you high on shear delight,
and when things aren't going well, it will crush you with the effects of withdrawal.
You can try to control love,
but in the end it will effect every move you make,
even if you do not know it.
Love is behind the curtain,
pulling the strings for your every thought and action.
Love is there, no matter how far beneath the surface you try to hide it.
Love will rise up and there is nothing that you can do to control it,
for it is the greatest gift that we have, and it cannot be silenced.
