This is part of a personal guiding light witten in iambic heptameter.
Who I am from who I was is easiest to see,
More difficult to visualize is who and what I'll be.
The things that I did yesterday impact my deeds today,
As much as what I'm doing now contains tomorrow's sway.

Complex as this appears to be it's but the smallest measure,
Of fortunes that are held within our macro-cosmic treasure.
For who I am is also bent by who my father was.
My options for tomorrow change because of things he does.

My lot, just like my father's, is grounded in the past,
And yet I have a choice to make each time a die is cast.
My father's fathers’ choices are perspectives I should see,
For when I honor ancestors that also honors me.

And it is meet to understand concerning words here spoken,
All deeds are spiraled forward in a manner quite unbroken.
And debts that are created because of things I've done,
May become the penalties paid by my grandson's son.

Every moment in the now I stand upon the brink,
Prudence says before we act, take some time to think.
Enlightened by the past I must consider future's vision,
The tool belt being now complete - Voila, a wise decision.
