He likes to "people watch". Only it's focused on one person.
People Watching

He likes to call it "people watching".
It's fine, really. Everybody does it.
Once in a while.
It's just that he focuses on one person
and everywhere she goes
and everything she does.
He knows all her old haunts,
he knows all her new haunts.
He knows who all her old friends are,
he knows who all her new friends are.
He pays particular attention to the new ones.
He seems no harm in it, no foul.
She couldn't even know he's there.
He's worked very hard
to help keep just the right spots
to do his people watching.
All his friends keep telling him,
"Man, you gotta let it go."
All his friends keep telling him,
"Dude, you're kinda acting a little creepy.
That's why she left you."
They just don't understand him.
They couldn't get it.
In order to get
they'd have to get her
and there's no way that's happening.
He just can't figure out
how he got this restraining order.
