The clock ticks away
We all keep trying to match its pace;
Like a tide in which we sway
It’s the reason behind this rat race.

Too much to do
Too little time to spare;
Too many people to woo
Too little time to care.

It’s a mad rush all around us
Everyone trying to be the best;
I don’t know why all this fuss
What is it that we want to test?

Hours merge into days and weeks
All around us life moves on;
We’re too busy for the meadows or the creeks
Too soon it will be all gone!
