An poetry prompt for class turned into a wonderful idea
I am
A cold winter's night as the wind howls and the moon is full
The dark is beckoning, but I resist its pull
I prefer to sit inside and watch as a storm softly brews
It leaves me to reflect, to remember, to muse

I am
The sound of rock music vibrating the walls
My voice, not as loud, heard down the hall
The voices of my idols, beautiful, haunting
The melody is graceful, it twirls around, taunting

I am
The page of a book, covered with story
that teaches of life,of love and of glory
The authors talk to me, teaching
The depth of the story, keeps me reaching

I am
The pages of a notebook, covered in ink
the the lines of those pages say what I think
In the form of a poem, a story, a prose
Nothing is secret, in there it all shows

I am
The voice of a friend, when all else fails
The calm in the storm when you've reached the rails
The one you can come to when you don't have a clue
I know its not much I'll do what I do
