poem about my plane ride to visit my hometown.
Delta flight Five – One – Zero – Seven
Take me to the this earthly heaven
I’m waiting in this plane to board
Two hours I fly to reach that familiar door
Those familiar voices ring in my ears
Obstructing the sound of the toddler’s tears

Delta flight Five – One – Zero – Seven
Soar far over this southern illusion
Bring me back to my favorite places
Show me their welcoming faces
Rest your wings on the runway
As soon as you land on this Sunday

Delta flight Five – One – Zero – Seven
Take me far away from this hell
I’m sure I’ll come back
Next time with a story to tell
I leave this uncomfortable seat
Knowing the next time, I won’t be so sweet.
