The Child Thief was my first attempt at poetry. I hope you enjoy!
The night has come and high the moon.
He basks in darkness you’re his boon.
Evil en wicked child thief.
Beware him child as you sleep.
O take you with his ragged claws.
Or rip you with his jagged jaws.
Ghastly vision, now don’t you peep.
En under covers hear him creep.
You know he’s close, scream, pout, or cry.
Must he take you, you’ll surely die.
And if you’re bad he’ll see it through.
Now say your prayers, it not be you.
