The dark and stupid assumptions people make about those they don't know
A pregnant girl is walking
steps echo down the hall
Bouncing off the lockers
To keen ears of one and all

Her head is bowed
Her arms tattooed
Eyes are sunken
Smelling of weed

All are quick to judge
Dark rumors spread
The poison words
Seeping into brains

All encouraged to shame
Pointing fingers
Vicious smile
Harsh laughter lingers

This girl was raped
She rarely slept
Her arms were covered
In those forgotten

Her parents left
Her house in shambles
Her brother smoked and drank
Sucking money away

This girl was lonely
Suicidal
Her past was dark
And tangled

Nobody cared
To understand
To them her life
Was one big game

If only one
Had attempted to doubt
The dark rumors
And twisted tales

This girl wouldn’t have died
of heavy depression
leaving a note saying
“who?”

“Who do I say goodbye to?”
“Why was nobody there?”
“What did I ever do wrong?”
“When did the world become like this?”

This girl was never thought of
Her name never brought up
Until a lonely teenager came
With a name tattooed on his arm.
