Written for my grandparent's 65th wedding anniversary.
If there is one thing that can be said about
Robert Peekstok,
It's that he's a builder.
A builder of houses
a builder of homes
a builder of art
and a builder of relationships.

A subtle wit always marks
everything he says
and his words are always chosen
with care.
He's eternally young,
yet full of wisdom
that only a long, full life
can bring.

He is a husband, father and grandfather
and he has passed his free spirit
and his patient kindness
on to his children and grandchildren.
Every child of his succeeding generations
shares some of his traits,
and it's a certainty
that the next generation
will share them too.

Grandpa taught us
that the journey is always more important
than the destination.
And that finding your own way
is always more fun.
Who needs to ask for directions?
Not all who wander are lost.

To this day, Grandpa continues
to create.
Erecting small towers of stone
and shaping his Grandchildren
with his stories  and his pride
in the family that he has built.
Because after all,
if there's one thing that can be said
about Robert Peekstok,
it's that he's a builder.
