Something that feels so wrong
Something without remorse
Can you forgive something
That is putrid and vile
For being so?

This heart of mine
Tries to see the light
But no matter how I try
I cannot reach it
For it burns my fingers
And pushes me away.

Can you forgive me
For being something despised
Even if I do not mean to?
If my heart speaks of disarray
Can you open yours
