everything is not as it seems
I flirt with you, I experiment
You draw my attentive attention
I wish you were mine, I yearn
You have me hanging in suspension
I want you, I am apprehensive
My thoughts of you require intervention
I need you to come, I aspire
You make me question your intention
I think of you often, I recollect
You break, crack, snap me with temptation

The winds whisper your secrets
They are not as I would suspect
Silence gasps as if the wind cannot breathe
Your secrets, then and only then become lies with greater effect
Your whispers whip past the wishing and the wanting
You are not as I once thought, not my idea of perfect
I once ran to you, now I walk, crawl even, dreading your presence
I now have my image, life, dreams, and love to protect,
You were my idea of peace, now you are the icon of death,
Death, my love, I must delay our confrontation, now must neglect.
