A poem about a love realized to late.
Emotions wail inside my heart
Pelting me with visions of her
Screaming for a different life
Aching at the choices made.

Her face illuminates my mind
Grasping every breath I take
Reminding me where I belong
Not this life I lead today.

Running toward her recklessly
Fleeing from what once was
Destroying that which was built
Knowing nothing but her love.

Memories of us tangled in youth
Years erased the passion that played
Lives evolve forgetting love
Finding comfort in today.

Days slide by searching for her
Night exhausted needing sleep
Pressing past a normal man
Heartache in the drivers seat.

Approaching her with heavy heart
No words allowed too paint the way
Love escaped us once again
Resting flowers on her grave.
