Advice to the graduating high school student
Graduation

Today you graduate and you know that I’m so proud
When you walk across that stage I’ll be waiting in the crowd
But this day marks the end of the childhood you knew
Today starts a new quest, the real test, tried and true
Gone now are the days of just playing in the sand
Now you start the journey down the track to be a man
It is difficult and wonderful forging your own path
But the lessons learned in struggle are the memories that last
As you venture out in life, remember you’re not alone
You’ll always have us here when you’re craving for your home
But it’s important to enjoy this freedom, though scary it may seem
Embrace learning, love, risk, and challenge, live life to the extreme
Because there will come a day when you are old and can only dream
About the life you never lived but it will be too late to be redeemed
