This was written for the writers cramp. A poem about abuse
A pair of broken glasses
lying shattered on the floor,
the resounding echo
of a slamming door.

Blood on the table,
blood on her face,
her heart breaks
as she wallows in disgrace.

Her knight in shining armor
is the devil in disguise.
He has used and abused her,
and no one hears her cries.

She is shamed beyond reason,
her soul is full of doubt.
What did she ever do
to bring this life about?

Is her love not good enough?
Is he just insane?
She lies alone in the darkness
and endures the pain.
