This is a poem about the despair someone can feel after being told they aren't good enough
Oh, how there are some days
When the pain is just too great,
scared and alone I wonder
Is this to be my fate?
To the people that I love
I often have to lie,
By simply not telling them
Of my burning wish to die.
Release me from my prison
This place of great despair,
There has to be a person
Who has some heart to share?
With just a word or look
Such pain they can inflict,
The damage is far worse
Than any one, well placed hit.
Sorrow slips softly down my cheek
For I’ll live on yet another day,
Pain will make me a stronger person
But ignorant they will always stay.
