What it's like to be gay

I'm a queer,
Who knows what it's like to fear,
To be hit with words sharp as a spear,
To disappear,
Feeling like I'm in a plane with no landing gear

It's just like they say,
I'm gay.
I'm stared at like I'm up for display,
All because I swing this way,
And I'm like this everyday.

I'm a girl with short hair,
No need to stare,
I didn't mean to scare,
You don't have to glare,
I'm just sporting a bit of flare.

I dress like a boy,
But I promise my names not Troy,
I don't do it to annoy,
It's not some plot to destroy,
It's just what I enjoy.

There's not some secret plan,
Against the straight man,
Or married man,
I just want to marry Anne,
But I can't because of the ban.

Did that make sense?
Was it too intense?
Was it on the fence?
I mean no offense,
I just thought it was common sense.
