A poem I wrote in high school
I am a weeping willow tree
I am beautiful from far away
I am calm and I am free
I have long branches that sway
I have leaves as beautiful as the dirt
I have winters that never go away
I am a weeping willow tree


I am a weeping willow tree
I hide many things from human eye
I hide behind my branches
I fear what behind them may lie
I am a weeping willow tree


I am a weeping willow tree
I hide my ugliness
I show my beautiful leaves
I fear they might love me less - I fear myself
I am a weeping willow tree
