The narrator speaks of a lovely evening and whimsical dreams.
A star-filled sky during the day
is impossible - so they say.
So I wonder and I play
with the idea as I lay
down on the soft and pleasant grass.
The light-gray clouds slowly pass me by
and I sigh as they crawl along the sky
'til the stars take over and show me the night.
"What a sight", I exclaim, "what a sight!"
My delight slowly fades
as I realize in the shade
that there's no one to share this lovely night away.
If only the stars could outshine the day...
