a short love poem
The sun breaks the chill but the world is
still cold on the outside. A heartbeat can
say a million words; in a picture perfect moment
that goes ignored. A face, a photograph of
memory that can never fade; life in silent love
is bittersweet misery. The conversation passes in
stuttered phrases; we speak the same, yet in a different
tone. Angelic eyes brighten the room and the hour
passed in silence with nothing gained for another
week. It's the fear of a heart slightly out of tune;
a dance without movement; we sing different songs
at the same time, our lungs spill out – on display for
prying eyes and jealous faces. Words that are never
said fade in smoke and darkness; the fear of loneliness,
the desire for something more is silent. The impeding
love will never be as this poem dies.
