Those three haunting words.
He forced the words,

The three most wonderful,

It's absurd,

Just not understandable.

She didn't ask for them,

Was too scared of moving,

A bond between the two,

But he's living from the past.

He's never felt a love like this,

She doesn't feel the same,

To him, she's the perfect game,

She's not to blame.

A simple glimpse at him,

A loving staring at her,

His life is chaotic, disastrous,

From perfect roots, a tree, she's the limb.

He dove into it head first,

She hesitated, checked the water,

Maybe it's all just pointless,

Yet he refuses to give it up.

Someday, just one day,

He's stop caring,

Then when it all comes crashing,

He will no longer be so overbearing.

He'll then realize those words,

Never true, never there,

Within his heart no longer a flare,

He never wants to hear, "I love you."
