A brief cry to hopeless love
I like to sit and contemplate
The way she screamed "goodbye"
The way she whispered "I love you"
(The reasons that I cry)

I like to wonder the "what if"s
The "how"s, the "why"s
The "who is she with now?"s
And "where's the bed in which she lies?"

I like to think that I can see her
Without angry tears in my eyes
That I'm not really hurt
By all the ways she lies

I'd like to say "never again!"
But I know my friend's will sigh
When they see my hand on hers
And another by her side
