The trials of Saint Patsy

Medieval piety developed the prayer of the rosary, while Coptic hymns to
the Mother of God, filled cathedrals. But, it was Saint Patsy, who
placed his worship of God above all else.

Prayer is primarily addressed to the Father or His only Son Jesus,
particularly by the invocation of His name:

          "Jesus Christ!"

Saint Patsy wanted desperately to be loved. But above all else he desired
the Father's love. Saint Patsy drove a cab and was blessed with a beautiful
wife and a beautiful daughter. Upon returning from his drive through the city,
Saint Patsy discovered his wife and daughter in the arms of other men.

"Jesus Christ!" he evoked the name of the intercessor.
Upon seeing his daughter coupled he exclaimed, "Holy Mother of God!"
His wife rose from the orgy and ushered the pious man to the kitchen.
"My dear," she explained, "These men are thieves. They came to rob
our home and murder us. But, our Christian charity has spared our lives.
Did not our Savior instruct us to turn the other cheek, if the first be struck?"

Saint Patsy's face was wet with tears. The two thieves had struck from behind
and beaten him to the floor. Writhing in agony in a pool of his blood, he begged
his persecutors to crucify him; so that he might know the passion of his Lord.
The thieves laughed as they used Saint Patsy as punching a bag.
"What is the combination to the safe? Mother fucker!" the thief shouted.
Saint Patsy gave it. He had not told his wife or daughter the combination.
This was a cross he must bear.

"Holy shit!" he's got a gold coin collection. One thief exclaimed.
Saint Patsy smiled through chipped teeth, "What is mine is yours."
"Hey! I've got a nail gun in the car!" the other thief shouted excitedly.
Saint Patsy was crucified on the wall of the kitchen next to the cat pendulum
clock. He watched in amazement as his wife and daughter left hand in hand
          with the thieves.

Reflection: How cruel the world can be to those of a higher calling.
