remaining who you are in a world that pulls the opposite direction
You look tired my dear
Your eyes are so vacant; so noticeably unclear
You look different tonight my love
Nothing I can tell you, could ever be right enough
Light brings out the darkness in you
Don’t let it hold you back you’re too close to a breakthrough
Don’t let your life slip through your fingers
Peace and dignity, in the air around you it lingers
Inside; you are crying
Tears on the edge of your eyes, with time they are buying
Does anyone notice the strong, have the most hidden?
Confiding in another is something you’ve made forbidden
You are being used in ways nobody can see
As to not bring attention it’s hidden in secrecy
Their false words thrive in your life
They don’t care that they’re stronger than a double edged knife
Place another layer on the force you have built inside
Let light shine on your soul; heal the compressed lies
Like a mirror, you are shattered in every way
The vandals came to break you; snuck in through the doorway
Don’t you know, your life holds so much value?
Maybe I’ve been sent to complete a heart rescue
There’s always more to a story than what lies on the cover
Time to run with the fire; a passion to discover
