A poem that I wrote, trying not to be mainstream.
I'm not the one for suicide, slitting my wrists for glee,
I'm not the one to make you laugh, with rainbows around me.
I'm not the one who mourns over the dead for very long,
I'm not the one you can rely on, the one that you call strong.
I'm not the one who cries and cries, cries at every turn,
I'm not the one who smiles and smiles, even through the burn.
I'm not the one with a cliche story, pushing the crowd,
I'm not the one who is only content, being loudest of the loud.
I'm not the one who causes pain drowning in a lie,
I'm not the one who offers hope, every time you cry.
I'm not the one for sanctity, preaching to the choir,
I'm not the one to shun all those bleeding hearts' desires

I'm the one who stands alone on the other side of the street,
I'm the one who's life goes by, normal and discreet.
I'm the one who stays on the move, battling through my life,
I'm the one who doesn't care, if I get into strife.
I'm the one who loves to dream, to take my agile past,
I'm the one who twists it round to something that will last.
I'm the one who'll turn back time, never forget the start,
I'm the one who'll continue on, with a beating heart.
