Just some poetry I wrote in grade 9 that recently resurfaced.
Final Night

Of all the far off places I've been
And the sad and gruesome sights I've seen
There is only one that stays fresh in my mind
No matter how far I push it behind
It is of bombs and guns that set the sky ablaze
The lack of sleep caused many to go from sane to crazed
If only I had someone to guide me through it
A little help to move on from it
But the guns the glory
We were all there for the story
That one last night
The only night remembered
The night our lives ended

.o0O0o.

Lost

These men came not to kill the savage
Not to weep but to wreck and ravage
From across the snow topped hills they came
Took us, broke our wills without shame
Of that land now all that's left is for those who scavenge

.o0O0o.

Gunfire

The blackness was broken by gunfire
That never ending gunfire
The gunners died but the guns still blazed
Everyone seemed dead or dazed
Yet the only rest the only sleep
Came to those ... six feet deep
