Draft of road poetry summer 2011
In this very instant, we are far apart
And never could I imagine that I'd miss you so much
Your smell, your touch
You are inevitably my counterpart

Painfully drifting away is the 'other' man
Surely the fight will be fatal
Our relationship is no longer stable
All those big plans have been overran

Now every step of the way, I have you
We are both anxious to start the rest of our lives
Together always, I'll one day be your wife
I'll be back soon to see this through.

It still amazes me what time can do
Once a guilty dream, I've since realized will come true
We both have dreams of children, which we will pursue
The horizon is brimming with delight and breakthroughs

I love you Shea, especially for changing my mind
I can't promise I'll stay, but I know I could never leave
Together there is nothing we cannot achieve
Becoming parents, travelling, continually redefined.
