We had to write parodys and we had the choice of The Landlady and The Tell Tale Heart.
There was an old man who had a tattoo.
He thought he was hip, he thought he was cool.
But all of the kids thought he was from outer space.
For his tattoo was on his face.
The kids had vowed to rid themselves from that tattoo.
And what better time than at two.

They came in pairs, they came in groups.
And once everyone was there, they had a whole troop.
They scuttled and they scurried.
They had school tomorrow, so they hurried.
And then it dawned on them, they didn’t have a key.
But who better to pick the lock than their good old friend, Brea.

Once inside, they tiptoed to the bedroom door.
From within they could hear a loud snore.
But someone sneezed and who could that be but Clare.
The old man woke and cried out “Who’s there.”
The kids freaked and dashed into the room.
And the old man met his doom.

Once the victory cries ceased.
They chopped him into a million pieces.
And they hid them under the floorboards.
For that was the greatest award.
Never again they would see that tattoo.
And as they left they let out a WAHOO!

The old man was thought to have moved in the night.
But truth was he had never been removed from that site.
The kids never paid for their crime.
They didn’t go to jail and do their time.
But every night when they laid down to sleep.
They would see that tattoo in their dreams and begin to weep.
