No Hope

I felt his pain.
I saw the fear in his eyes.
Reluctant to leave this safe place.
Forced to go to this place so-called home.
I heard his silent cries for help.
I heard his protests, hoping to finally win.
I saw his failure, yet again.
Questioning the role of hope.
Backing down when he has already fallen.
Defeat overwhelming his heart.
Left with no where to go, and no one to turn to.
Trusting himself only.
