This is a poem about a long distance love affair, that didn't work out.
Every morning when I awake

the thoughts of you are there,

Every night before I fall asleep

I cry, because I thought you didn't care.

I never really knew at first

that what I felt was real

but when you decided to leave me

I knew then just how I feel.

Each and everyday since you said goodbye

there's an empty place in my heart,

I wanted you to know how much I love you

even though we are so very far apart.

You'll never know just what you mean to me

and how hurt I am that you are gone,

but now I know I love you enough to set you free

and with my life, I must go on.
