A little poem inspired by my family, when I was in a state of happiness caused by them.
I don’t know many things,
or many people
but what I do, and who I know,
is good enough.
Because it’s simple, easy
- easy as breathing.
My air is supplied by them,
and I live because I could not live without them.
I know enough to understand,
and I feel in them, enough to comprehend,
the very goodness of them,
the very sweetness of their soul.
It enriches the dust all around,
and makes them glitter like gold and silver
worth as much – to me they are,
priceless and irreplaceable.
Because once they’re gone – they’re gone,
and a person has only a mind once.
No duplicate or copy,
could ever do them justice
keep me strong,
and pick me up when I fall down.
Dearest family,
Mother, brothers, sisters and a step-dad, too,
I treasure you like an emerald gem I could never sell,
like a scrapbook of memories I could never bin.
To me, you are, and always will be,
my heart, my soul, my very being.
