Tattered deception in your mind
Fleeing before the battleground
look to close and you will find
all the fear you keep around.

Dragging chains of your past
taking time to call out
to all the flames spreading fast
over your unspoken doubt.

Shave away the inner loathing
attacking you like awaiting fangs
strip it away like your clothing
and the melancholy song you sang.
