My entry for "Pass the Write Baton" that I wanted to save in my portfolio
When I was still young,
I thought my life done,
from a heart that was broken
with words gone unspoken,
and To me the world was silent.

You walked along,
just singing a song
of a love too good for me,
and one not meant to be,
and To me the world was silent.

You stopped at my side,
said my dress caught your eye.
It was pretty as a rose,
and You had one of those,
then the world began to sing.

You said music has a way
of brightening the day,
and to prove it to be true,
I'll sing a song for you
then the world began to sing.

My soul felt a shiver,
as You crossed the river,
that kept me from hearing of love,
and To me the world was silent,
then the world began to sing.
