Trying to decide between two difficult paths.
In my travels, I’ve come across a fork in the road.
Both seem quite dark, in their own way.
Down one path, the road is predictable, laid out in a standard way.
There is a small house, in a small town, with a small family and a small job.
In it’s simplicity there is a sense of content and stability.
There is support and conditional love.
This road promises a whole life.
This road requires me to give up my dreams.

Down the other path, the way is rocky and unclear.
No guarantees, no back up plans.
There is no way to tell where I’ll land.
There could very well be a cliff at the end of this road.
However, the sky is the limit.
If I fail, I can try again.
I wouldn’t be settling, this road promises adventures.

I know if I choose one road, I’ll be giving the other one up altogether.
I couldn’t possibly have both.
Do I desire to chase my dreams or do I desire a comfortable life?
Dare I settle and wonder or do I want to wander into the unknown?

Here I am, sitting at this fork in the road.
I know I will have to choose.
The agony may push me toward the edge.
And which edge will I decide?
