A random but sweet poem about a boy called Billy and his new bunny friend...
A funny and sweet poem that me and my twin sister suddenly decided to write a couple of years ago. It is very random, and follows the adventures of a little boy called Billy and his new, unexpected Bunny friend.

It’s Monday morning and little Bill’s yawning
He has to go to school which he thinks is uncool
So he goes downstairs after getting out of bed
And he makes himself some breakfast,
Some butter and some bread.

He gets dressed into his jogging tracksuit
And throws his school bag in the boot
He gets in the car and starts the engine
Doesn’t know how to drive
So he’s just pretending.

He presses the clutch and rolls down the hill
What the hell’s gonna happen to poor little Bill?
The car hits a bush and sends Bill flying
His head hits the wheel and little Bill’s crying.

He’s dead on the floor and a bunny hops by
Then he comes back to life and he doesn’t know why
He’s staring at the bunny as he’s lying on the floor
The bunny greets him with an almighty roar.

“What did you do that for?” asks Bill,
But the bunny just stays there, standing still
The rabbit has a halo above its head
Surely Billy can’t be dead!

Bill looks around at the beautiful sight
The world is covered with a glimmering light
All he can see for miles is clud;
Masses and masses of bubbly soap sud.

Bill asks the bunny, “where am I?”
The bunny points a paw up the sky
There’s a bright sign hanging from a cloud
“Welcome to heaven!” reads the bunny aloud.

For the next few days, Bill hated this place
Sinking through cluds till they were up to his face
His head was stuck and he felt marshmallowed
So he stood on a clud and there he bellowed…

“Mummy, mummy, where are you dear?
I don’t like it one bit up here!”
He wished his father was here as well
But then he remembered… he went to hell.

Then suddenly he heard a thud,
The bunny had fallen through the clud!
“Bunny, bunny, this can’t be!
Please stay here - stay with me!”

The bunny yelled, “it’ll be okay!
Just sit on that clud and there you’ll stay.
I’l ring you on the giant phone
And tell you just how you can get home!”

Just as the bunny said, the huge phone screamed,
“Oh, what’s occuring?” the bunny beamed.
“Once we’ve finished on the phone,
Tap your heels together, say ‘there’s no place like home!’”

Billy put down the phone and stood up straight away
He tapped his heels together, he knew what to say.
He couldn’t wait to see his friends and boast
But when he got back, he was a ghost!

Someone walked through him which gave him a shock
Then a bird flew by followed by a flock.
But it didn’t hurt him, it didn’t do any harm
So Billy and the bunny walked away arm in arm.
