A personification of the moon, sun and earth's relationship.
In profile, her glowing alabaster skin
illuminates in striking contrast to her illustrious locks.

Tresses of such deep dark black
they seem made from a deep blue velvet cloak.

Her adornments of a million brilliant babbles
that may at first glance seem strangely strewn,
and yet everyone is perfectly in place.

As she turns her face more fully
the pulse of the Earth beats as a bee’s wings,
sending waves to caresses the shore.
Earth looks longing at the eternal peace within her fair face,
knowing that her glow is for another.

Yet even as she basks in loves glow, she will not let him near.
So, He must conspire with the Earth
to send her fragrant flowers and
a show of vibrant colors that
always arrives to soon or late for her sight.

Endeared by his blinding brilliance
yet she fears the ensnarement they could require.
Thus, she moves merrily dancing just outside of his reach.

On occasion, the Earth and the Sun
are seemingly at odds with one another.
Therefore, she intercedes
cloaking herself in the brilliant color
until they both seem stated.
Then she is away in a merry dance.

However, she knows when
Earth can handle no more of her dance and
she pulls the curtains to cover herself from Earths view,
knowing that her absence will heal the rift.
Then the game is afoot and
she peeks from behind her curtains vale.

The Sun looks on as
she dances just outside of his reach,
playing her shadow game, waiting, and
hoping that one day she will return his warmth.
