This is a poem I wrote after my divorce, at the start of a new life.
LET IT RAIN

Pitter patter,
Let it fall.
Wash away the pain.

With every drop that falls,
A little more goes away.

This year has been a wreck.
I'm starting over fresh.
I need to cleanse myself.
Let it rain.

The tapping on the panes,
The dripping sound it makes,
Soothes me.

It's slowly sliding down the glass,
Erasing the dreaded past.

I can't wait to feel free,
Of what I once knew.
My clean slate's drawing near.
Let it rain.

It's sliding down my back,
Flowing between my breasts.
Touching every spot that has any pain left.

With every drop that falls,
I'm feeling sensual.

The relief is setting in.
I am feeling cleansed.
I'll cherish my new beginning,
Rain.
