About friends seperated by time and circumstances

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As choices set them on different paths; they drifted away without a good-bye

Ten years passed... not a word exchanged; distances grew and memories lost

Too many ups and downs they trudged alone; till their paths finally crossed.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A glint of recognition - unacknowledged; no shared experiences - no topic to discuss

A kerchief came out to cover a sunken face; and lips curled sideways on the other

“You still don’t wash them, do you?”; “I've stacked them all for you, don’t bother!”

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A suppressed smile, a sharp retort; playful banter, a senseless chat

Smiles erupted into laughter; and with it all grudges and guilt swept clean

They’re back being ‘just friends’ as always - no worldly reason, no purposes mean.
