After my boyfriend came home from college and work exhausted, I wrote this.
You laid down beside me naked, undone,
And through eyes so tired, you whispered my name
I reached out my hand, but saw moonlight had won
And as it carried you off, I whispered the same

My heart smiles and soars and the of thought tomorrow
Paints the walls of my mind with hope anew
Don’t worry my love where you go I will follow
I think to myself, as I watch over you

Oh! I realise I should move the moonlight
For the chestnut trees bare branches
Are enough to scatter, but not hide
The light from all the dances
Of every moonbeam outside.
