This is a poem I wrote during creative writing class. Hope you like it!
My dad doesn't seem to realize
that I'm not a little girl anymore,
that someday, I'll be leaving home
and I might not come back right away.

He doesn't seem to realize
that, someday, I'll be dating.
He might not approve,
but it's my life, my choices.

I know that he won't always
be there to protect me,
so I want to stay his little girl
for as long as I can.
