They had their happily ever after; once upon a time.
In a land, far, far away...
there lived a prince and his princes--his caretaker's daughter.
They were rowdy, messy, dirty, playful.

"We'll get married when we grow up."
He says. She smiles.
It was the best time of their lives.

Years passed... time flew from their grasp.
She no longer follows him to play.
They were no longer rowdy, messy, dirty.
He had to move on for his kingdom.

She serves him now.
No more playful name calling, dirty games, loving gestures.
He has to choose a wife in a few hours.

They meet in the halls.
She stands there. He looks at her.
No words exchanged. No smiles seen.
His childhood princess bows, walks past him.

They had their happily ever after; once upon a time.
