From my album: A Tribute to Death
The Night of Glass

The night started off still,
Until the shriek of glass disturbed the stillness.
Glass, falling to the floor.
Glass, shattering on the floor into a million pieces.
It was glass that covered the ground.

Figures in the night shouting.
Shouting at the screaming glass.
The sound of the screams echoing,
Cutting through the night.

The sound of the glass falling
Was like a torrential downpour.
It was like watching lightning
Pierce through the sky.

Then the darkness slowly began to drift.
Drifting from the ground, from the air.
The figures, then cower in fear
Of being exposed by light
